Emile International SchoolMichiyo

Hello, I am Ms. Kanke, the representative of Emile International School.
I have been involved in the international school business in and out of Japan, international activities, living in the UK, my experiences of childcare and raising my children, and a long-term of professional English education at the Board of Education.
I highly appreciate all the people who have involved and connected with me, and I established Emile International School because I wanted to create places where we can serve and give back to the community.

Emile International School has three main roles.

  1. 1: We value the English education and cultivation of aesthetic sensitivity centered on international global education.
  2. 2: We value the connections not only with children but also with guardians.
  3. 3: We provide the open places not only for child-rearing generations but also for local people where they can enjoy gathering.

1We value the English education and cultivation of aesthetic sensitivity centered on international global education.

Aspects of our child care to make the important basics of life,

  • ・The childcare to value the Japanese culture and courtesy.
  • ・The childcare which children can live in information-intensive society.
  • ・The childcare to value the cultivation of aesthetic sensitivity like music, art craft and etc.
  • ・The childcare to build a healthy body like gymnastics and dance. “Fun for both children and adults”

Based on the concepts above, our nursery teachers and professional instructors like musicians and dancers come together to create the educational environment.

2We value the connections not only with children but also with guardians.

We do not focus on only children, but we also value the relationship with each guardian. And we aim to create a warm school where everyone can participate and continue to grow together.
For example, we provide dinner and a bath for overtime at night. We understand that this is still an uncommon service in Japan and there are pros and cons of it. If what we can do makes guardians concentrate on raising children without being stressed and communicate well with children, we would like to prepare an environment when the time comes.
In Emile, we have talented staff members, not just in childcare.
We could suggest various solutions. Please feel free to contact us for anything without reservation.

3We provide the open places not only for child-rearing generations but also for local people where they can enjoy gathering.

We aim to create place which is always open to local and where everyone wants to come casually, like holding events beyond the facilities.
In Emile International School, there are a cooking chamber and a hall at the first floor, childcare room in the second floor and a staff room and a free space at the third floor. We would like to utilize this space for clubs and classrooms for the local community, and would like to manage our facility where children and the local community coexist and share fun together.
Moreover, utilizing the experience of international exchange, we have been considering the exchanges which transcend the boundaries inside and outside our schools, and inside and outside Japan. And there are a small number of opportunities and places for foreigners living in Kumamoto who raise children to consult and to socialize. Even if so, there are many people who are left out and become isolated. We would like to be a Jack-of-all-trades for such people.

Lasty, this is the third year for Emile International School. And we opened Emile International School Kuhonji and Emile After School.
We continue to aim for schools which make all the people involved, like children, guardians, teachers, school staff, local people and so on rather than stereotyped childcare.
